The Tom Sandberg Foundation is constituted after the will of the late Tom Sandberg, and manages the comprehensive collection of the artist’s photographic work.
The Foundation supports both institutional and commercial initiatives and exhibitions in order to maintain and promote the artistic legacy of Tom Sandberg.
The Foundation works closely with the National Library of Norway where Sandberg’s negative material and digital files are kept, for the purpose of conservation and research.
The Foundation offers authentication of Tom Sandberg’s work, and commits to a Foundation policy reassuring the authenticity of artwork by Tom Sandberg.

Foundation Statement
The Tom Sandberg Foundation commits to the following policy reassuring the authentic work of art by Tom Sandberg:
The material may not be used to print any further certified copies of Tom Sandberg’s work.
One exception will be made according to the will of the late Tom Sandberg. The artist left behind a statement comprising the collection of pieces shown at his exhibition Tom Sandberg PHOTOGRAPHS at the OSL Contemporary in Norway, in February 28 – March 29, 2014. The exhibition was organized in close collaboration with Tom Sandberg with a clear intention to reproduce these selected pieces after his death. The remaining reproduction of the specific photographs will be realized according to the artist’s will and organized by the Foundation.
The Foundation offers certification of authenticity of artworks, and conducts projects to preserve and document Tom Sandberg’s body of work, in collaboration with conservational institutions and experts.
Assurance of authenticity
The Foundation stands by the total collection of photographic prints by Tom Sandberg, and welcomes privileged owners of artworks by Tom Sandberg to consult the Foundation.
The Foundation reassures the unique work of art by Tom Sandberg by issuing signed certificates of authenticity of an original artwork, in close collaboration with professionals in the field of photography who have worked closely with Sandberg for decades.
The processing time is estimated for each individual case and an administration fee will apply. The transportation cost between the Foundation address and the owner of the artwork, as well as insurance, is covered by the client.
the collection
The Tom Sandberg collection consists of an extensive body of original artworks by Tom Sandberg, from the 1970s until his last work made in 2014, and encompasses large-scale and framed artworks as well as a unique collection of analogue silver gelatine prints on baryta paper.
The Foundations’ archive also reflects the artist’s in-depth process of making photographic prints, by means of early sketches and work-in-progress.
